Introducing NRP Verification at Robbinsville Pickle House

We’re excited to announce the implementation of NRP Verification at Robbinsville Pickle House, a new in-house rating system designed to ensure players of similar skill levels enjoy fair, competitive, and enjoyable games. Here's what you need to know about NRP and how it will enhance your pickleball experience:

What is NRP?

The NRP is a rating system used exclusively at Robbinsville Pickle House. Ratings run in .5 increments and allow us to accurately assess skill levels based on current performance, rather than relying on slower-updating external systems. This ensures that players are matched with others of similar ability, fostering balanced, competitive, and fun gameplay.

Why NRP?

Players often progress quickly, and traditional rating systems don’t always keep pace. With NRP, you can:

• Receive reassessments every 6 weeks to reflect improvements in your game.
• Join sessions tailored specifically to your skill level during peak hours.

Verified Sessions (Implemented January 15th)

All Verified Open Play sessions will require a Verified NRP for sign-up. These sessions are structured to create the best possible matchups during the club’s busiest hours, ensuring a top-notch playing experience for everyone.

Waiting to be verified or uninterested in being NRP verified?

In addition to Verified Open Play, we will be hosting our Emerging 3.25 and Enthusiast 3.75 Open Plays. These open plays offer a more laid-back environment allowing for players to play with friends at a more social level, or if they do not wish to be rated. These open plays allow players to mix with others outside their typical skill group, including opportunities to challenge yourself against more advanced players. While less competitive than Verified Open Play, these socials are an excellent way to sharpen your game and connect with more members of our community.

Our suggestion for the aforementioned open plays is as follows:

• 3.0 and 3.5 players to join Emerging 3.25 Open Plays.
• 3.5 and 4.0 players to join Enthusiast 3.75 Open Plays.

2. Sign Up for Reassessments: Every 6 weeks, you can opt to update your rating as your skills improve.
